Joe used to put this hat on and we would laugh. What a funny hat! It's ridiculous, I mean look at the fur. It looks like the kind of hat an Eskimo would wear. This morning when Joe left for work he put this hat on and neither of us laughed.
We have been having unusually warm weather the past few weeks. I wouldn't really know, because I think 80 or 90 degrees in November is normal. I guess it is usually really cold and snowing by Halloween. We have had some really cold days and some flurries (that's what you call snow that is really lite and doesn't stick, it's like what sprinkles are for rain, but for snow), but last night it really snowed.
Joe and I were so excited! We were like two little kids. We went outside in our pajamas. I'm not sure why, but none of the neighbors came outside to see the snow at 11pm.
Last night the snow was very magical.
Here I am in my pajamas and my "real coat" it's wool. The lady at the grocery store told me that it would not be warm enough, because of how windy it is in Cheyenne. Then she pulled her coat out from under her register and made me try it on. It was very weird.

On the subject of coats, last week I was looking for snow jackets online. They were on sale and I told Joe to pick one out, so he would have a coat for winter. He told me that he didn't need one, because he would be fine with what he had, and he didn't want to pay $100 for a coat. Last night after we came in from being in the snow Joe told me that $100 probably wasn't too much to pay for a warm coat.
The bed of Joe's truck was full of snow.

Ezra has been talking about the snow since we got here in August. I knew he would be so excited to see the snow. I tried to wake him up, but he is my son and no matter how hard I tried he would not wake up to see the snow.
Last night before he went to bed he told me that his throat hurt and he would probably "have to be absent" from school tomorrow. I actually believed him and I was going to take him to the doctor's office this morning. Not a chance. He was so adorable this morning looking out the window at all of the snow.

He couldn't wait to go to school. He got to wear his snow boots. He was very excited. It was cold, but he was bundled up.
Here he is off to the bus stop. Don't worry I'm not the only mom who makes her kid take the bus.

Just as he was leaving some of his friends caught up with him.

River was so excited for the snow too. I knew he was excited because he got dressed without being told and it was before 8am. He played outside and then came in covered in snow. Now we will have to get some snow pants, I think.

Here are a couple of Cora pictures. We call her Coco and you can too. She is such a good baby, she smiles a lot.
Last night when I was holding her she was extra cute and snugly. I had to take a picture. I mean look at those baby thighs. Who could resist those? Nobody, because she is adorable.

We were trying out her new hair bows in this one. She is cute in this picture too.
She is a big hit at our house. The boys ADORE her. It is so sweet. They talk to her and River is so into showing her how to do things. Yesterday while she was in her bouncy seat he taught her; how to snap, put socks on, put shoes on, hop on one foot and how to whistle. He is a really good big brother.
When we are in a store and the boys see anything that is girlie they always ask if we can get it for Cora. At first I used to object and tell them it was the wrong size or she was too little for whatever they were talking about.
It would go something like this:
Riv or Ez- Mom, can we get this jacket for Cora?
Me- No we can't get that it's a size 7. It won't fit her.
Riv or Ez- I mean can we get it for her when she is 7?
Me- Um, sure.
It's the same way with toys too, but now I just play along.
Riv or Ez- We should get Cora this Barbie bike, she would really like it.
Me- Yeah, she would love to have a Barbie bike.
Adorable, if I do say so myself!

Welcome to actual winter. I love the pics, they are great. Coco is so super cute, and River is such a good brother, but his itinerary for teaching might be a little heavy for her. I mean snapping and whistling, that is quite a lot. It was so good to talk with you the other day, even if we didn't have much to talk about. Snow pants= great idea. The boys will be happier the drier they stay. And order your "real" coats STAT, you're going to need them. We are supposed to get some snow tomorrow. It has been the same degree of "daylight" for 3 days, so weird. Love ya!
The snow is beautiful! And you were all adorable playing in it. Coco is so precious and the boys are such good big brothers! Love to you all! :)
we had snow like that growing up in nebraska. the best part is that our dad made us snow forts. i bet the boys and joe would have a ton of fun doing that. cora is way cute in her bows.

I must say that I am NOT jealous of the snow, although it does look pretty and fun to play in!!! I'm just not a fan of COLD!
I love reading your boys converstions...SO CUTE!
Love reading your posts, Your kids are adorable! Coco is beautiful! I'm with mel, not jealous of the snow, but it does look pretty. Thanks for the update!
I agree absolutely adorable!
Your little gal is a cutie!
And that snow? The novelty will wear off soon and you will be cursing the grey skies and white fields. Atleast that is what I do!
I love that you were so excited!
Joan, Joan, Joan, Joan. Are you starting to understand why real winters are so AWESOME!!!??? Once again, I'm jealous - it's even hotter here than your "normal" November temps - I'm convinced that's why there is so much anger in this part of the world. The kids looks great!
Adorable is absolutely right Joan!!!! Can't get over that Cora!!! Ohhhhhhhhh she's just a doll!!! Awesome you have snow! Just looking at the pics makes me cold! Couldn't live in it!
I'm so glad you guys have snow! Snow is so much fun- but only if you are prepared for it. Good gear makes all the difference between loving and hating it. It looks like Joe already figured that out with his sweet hat. Your little Cora is adorable- and I'm glad the boys are excited about the snow. I think you were right about the boiled peanuts- I was expecting it to taste like a peanut- so I'll have to try again. Take care and keep warm!
great pictures! joseph and i have been laughing for several minutes now at all of your stories. we miss you guys!!
Hey! You're making me miss the snow! Look how much fun it is. I mean, I know it's a pain, but there is nothing better than being in a warm house with a cup of hot cocoa and watching the snow fall.
And, Cora is the cutest little bald female baby River ever.
you guys are so freakin' cute- I would've joined you in the snow :) I love that it only snows here maybe once a year if my kids are lucky..haha.
That Coco is "Cocolicious", love that your boys are so cute with her. I hope mine are as sweet with our little one.
loves
